I saw Chaz about 30 years ago in Kansas City....he had a group called Bleeker Street from Boulder, CO.....we were at a small out of the way bar.....they did 2 sets and it was great...Bleeker Street did 2 CD's...Tumblin' Down and I Need a Gun and a Drink....I thought Tumblin' Down was the better of the two.....Then I lost track of the group and a few years later I found Chaz in New Orleans.....a great guy....lovely to visit with....He has put out several CD's since those first 2....but I don;t have any of those....

Hi, Andy, I don't know if you remember me, but we met a couple of times. I am just learning of Bobby's passing, 7 years after she left the earthly realm. I first met her at the Pasadena Repertory Theatre in August of 1975 at the Hotel Carver, where we were, like everyone there, both volunteers. The first play we worked on together was the Tom Rickman play "Baalam," that starred Elizabeth Hartman and Peter Brandon and was the theatrical acting debut of Ed Harris. Bobby was a quiet type, but very funny. She was a great asset on the plays. She was always looking for ways to be helpful. The ceramic sculptor Howard Whalen also worked on both plays as an actor and/or set designer. He was well-loved by many people. When Howard died, a group of his friends came together to build the Howard Whalen Sculpture Garden in Sierra Madre, California in the space next to his studio. I always loved it when Bobby showed up because she had a beautiful smile and a beautiful spirit. Still quiet. Still funny. Still a great asset. A voice of reason when there was chaos. Unfortunately as happens to many volunteer organizations, both the Pasadena Repertory Theatre and the Howard Whalen Sculpture Garden disintegrated before our very eyes, and hundreds and hundreds of volunteer hours by many good people went up in smoke. After that, I never had an opportunity to run into Bobby again. I am so happy you put this tribute together for her, because it has allowed me to remember her fondly, and her lovely smile, and lovely spirit. It was truly an honor to have known her. -Kevin Cloud Brechner
